2025-2026 BSQ Mini-Grant Summary
Our BikeSafetyQuiz Mini-Grant program is funded through a traffic safety grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation. The success of the program can be attributed to the teachers, administrators, parents, and advocates who value the safety of students who ride bicycles, plus driver’s education students learning to drive safely near people outside of motor vehicles.
During the 2025-2026 school year, students from nearly 200 schools from all corners of Illinois completed one of our new and improved quizzes for Child Bicyclists, Adult Bicyclists, and Motorists. Participating schools received $2 per student (up to $2,000) as compensation for the time and effort required to administer the quiz.
The application for a BSQ Mini-Grant for the 2026-2027 school year is now available. Ride Illinois’ goal is to eclipse 70,000 completed quizzes by August 2027.
