About BikeSafetyQuiz
BikeSafetyQuiz is a first-of-its-kind resource developed by Ride Illinois that teaches adults, children, motorists, and truck drivers how to share the road safely. The interactive quizzes cover safety techniques and relevant state laws using images and short explanations for each answer. The quiz is the teaching tool!
Each quiz includes thought-provoking quizzes for three different audiences:
Adult Bicyclist: for teens and adults
Child Bicyclist: for 4th and 5th graders (or younger with adult help)
Motorist/Drivers Ed: for motorists and driver’s education students
The E-Bike Smart Quiz was developed by League of American Bicyclists and PeopleForBikes – two Ride Illinois partners at the national level.

BikeSafetyQuiz Details
-
Ride Illinois works to increase safe interactions – and reduce resentment – between motorists and bicyclists. There are serious public education gaps on bicycling safely and on driving in the presence of cyclists. In-depth courses about cycling are limited in reach given the time and resources needed to participate.
By taking a “Some (info) to lots (of people)” approach, the quiz is helping to share bike safety information with more people. Since the launch in 2013, over 400,000 people have completed BikeSafetyQuiz!
-
The quiz is not just for individuals wishing to test and grow their knowledge. Schools, after-school programs, scouts, driver’s education instructors, businesses, and community organizations can share it with others. Communities and police departments can also use the quiz for public education and constructive enforcement.
Partnerships are critical to spreading the reach of BikeSafetyQuiz. There are many ways one can incentivize adults and children to take BikeSafetyQuiz! Get creative and help Ride Illinois spread the word about this useful teaching aid.
We continue to broaden our reach via partnerships with various audiences including those listed below. To receive more information or promotional materials to support the use of BikeSafetyQuiz, please contact info@rideillinois.org.
